Obadiah & Friends Coffee House June 21, 2019
June 21 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Join us for an evening of songs of peace and hope! Our guest artist will be John Scardina & Friends.
John Scardina has been playing guitar since he was 16 years old. He finally hit the coffeehouse circuit in 1995 and hasn’t stopped since!
John was a founding member of the trio Works in Progress (along with his wife Lucille Rivin and Rich Aldred), and their self-titled CD of 2003 received good airplay in the Philadelphia area.
John believes that music is an artistic answer to hate, fear, and violence. He writes songs of peace and hope and also enjoys playing songs by his musical mentors (John Prine, the Grateful Dead, and Bob Dylan among them).
This will be a musical evening treat with an eclectic playlist: John leading on originals, Lucille singing songs by Mavis Staples and Billie Holliday, and Rich (now joined by his wife Claudia) channeling the energy of Stan Rogers and Tom Paxton. Add drummer Tim Kelly and some other surprise guests and it will be an evening not to be missed.
Doors open at 7pm. There’s an open mic from 7:30 – 8:15. The music set starts at 8:15. All are welcome. Click here for more information.
